Taurus has entered into an agreement with the Universidad Austral (Buenos Aires, Argentina) to develop and operate the first university research park in the country. The vision is to create a corporate space of excellence that will become the hub of innovation, growth, and business development in Argentina. The project is a country strategic initiative that has aligned the interests of corporations and the country’s opinion leaders. Taurus has been selected by the university as their partner of choice to be the exclusive developer and operator of the 67-acre park that is intended to become home to more than 70 top-level companies involved in research and development.
The Park is located 40 minutes from the Buenos Aires central business district, and forms part of the Universidad Austral’s Pilar Campus, currently comprising of Latin America’s premier business school (according to Financial Times' business schools ranking), the IAE, and the newly-built and fully-operative University Hospital Austral. Taurus projects the development of 67 acres of land and more than 150,000 square meters of offices, laboratories, and related facilities, including incubator buildings with the most modern infrastructure.
Taurus will invest $15 million in private equity in the project’s first phase, to finance 100% of the park’s infrastructure and four central/incubator buildings totaling approximately 12,000 square meters. The University’s superb academic reputation, strong corporate relationships, and unparalleled campus facilities, combined with Taurus’ business/technology park experience and financial know-how, produce a winning combination.
