Quechee - Quechee Lakes is now offering a special service to its residents and visitors; a complimentary concierge service to make their experience the best it can be.
Elizabeth Rogers, who grew up in South Royalton, is program manager for the concierge service. Rogers said the purpose of the service is to make things easier for residents and visitors of Quechee Lakes, as well as members of the Quechee Lakes Landowners Association, to plan their stay.
"We're here to offer assistance planning for any kind of outings that people might have, make reservations for them, suggestions as far as things that might be good activities for their family," Rogers said.
She said they have lot of resources on recreational activities, such as maps and information on various outing organizations.
In addition to helping people plan what they are going to do with their time in Quechee and the Upper Valley, the concierge service helps people find business services they might need.
"If second homeowners need a housekeeper, landscaper or anything of that nature, we have them," Rogers said.
"They don't need to go looking around the area where they don't know anybody."
While they have not started the service yet, they would like to schedule itineraries with people before they arrive.
Many residents come into the concierge services to check on entertainment-related events in the area. Rogers said they have information and programs on arts and cultural events as well as what is going on at VINS, Billings Farm and the Montshire Museum.
The concierge service held its first opening in August 2007, but held a formal opening and dessert reception for QLLA members in November.
Currently, Rogers said they are pretty busy, seeing about three to four people a day stop in for their services.
In February, they will welcome artist Steven Huneck of St. Johnsbury, Vt. To do a children's program. Alongside that program, Huneck will also have an exhibit of his work on display.
Located on the corner of Route 4 and Waterman Hill Road, the concierge service is open from 10 am to 6 pm Monday through Saturday and 10 am to 3 pm Sundays. They are closed on major holidays. The building is also furnished with home furnishings from Clear Lake Furniture, located in Woodstock and Ludlow, Vt.
