Taurus Investment Holdings, LLC and its subsidiary, Taurus of Chicago, LLC are proud to announce the much anticipated opening of University Village ("UV") to accommodate Eastern Illinois University students during the 2006-2007 school year.

The parcel of land consists of 36 acres located in Charleston, Illinois, which is approximately 190 miles south of Chicago, and less than a mile east of Eastern Illinois University's campus. It has the added benefit of being directly across from the local Super Wal-Mart, one of the prime retail locations for students in the area.

The student community consists of single story, modular factory-built detached homes and duplex units. There are 28 four-bedroom, two-bath detached homes and 48 three-bedroom, two-bath duplexes planned. All told, 124 units are planned, totaling 400 bedrooms. The project includes amenities, such as a centralized three-acre park with sand volleyball and basketball courts.

The university is attended by many students from Chicago's affluent suburbs. Universities and colleges across the nation have experienced increases in enrollment. Eastern Illinois University is no different, as its enrollment increased 4.1%, or by 478 students in 2005, compared to the previous year.
